EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (Full-Time)

Under the general supervision of the Park and Recreation Director, performs a variety of semi‑skilled tasks in the maintenance, operation, and repair of city buildings and grounds, including City Hall, Library, Civic Center, and Senior Center.  Exercises independent judgment in decision making and prioritizes work.  For the complete job description, click here.

Education/Training:

Graduation from high school or equivalent GED; one year of experience in building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

License/Certification

Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid Nebraska driver's license; must be able to respond from home to work within 20 minutes under normal weather conditions.  Must be able to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications and State of Nebraska Pool Operator License within six months of employment.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a non-exempt, full-time position with full City benefits.  Position requires working irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by maintenance needs and facility schedules.  Flexibility to be available for emergency call-outs during off time is also necessary.  All offers of employment are conditional upon the successful completion of a background check including driving record.

RECREATION LEADER - Youth Instructional Programs (Part-Time)

Under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, this individual will plan, organize, promote, manage, and lead our After School and Summer Camp youth instructional programs.  Areas of knowledge and responsibility would include leading arts and crafts, athletic activities, group games, homework assistance, staff scheduling, and maintaining daily reports as needed.  Click here for the job announcement with additional information and details.

PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full-Time)

Under the supervision of the Parks Supervisor, performs a variety of semi‑skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance, upkeep, repair and operation of city parks, recreational facilities and buildings.  This particular position will be the lead individual responsible for the Department’s turf and horticultural management program.  Exercises independent judgment in decision making and prioritizes work.  This position will supervise the work of seasonal workers to assure maximum utilization of assigned skills, facilities, and equipment.  For the complete job description, click here.

Education/Training:

Graduation from high school or equivalent GED; one year of experience in parks, grounds, landscape management, horticulture, and/or building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

License/Certification

Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid Nebraska driver's license; must be able to respond from home to work within 20 minutes under normal weather conditions.  Must be able to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications and Pesticide Applicator License (non-commercial) within six months of employment.
